Although Ken worked today and I worked this Memorial Day morning, we just wanted to take a minute to acknowledge those that have given their life for our country. They are truly brave and deserve a few minutes of our time to give them thanks.
In November, 1979 while on a school field trip to Washington, D.C. I visited the Arlington National Cemetery. Even though I was barely thirteen, I was truly moved by the endless rows of unmarked tombstones. Each tombstone represents a life given for our country, and the rows go on as far as the eye can see. It is something that every American should see at least once. I hope to go back again someday with Ken and our daughter, who have never had the opportunity to visit the cemetery.
So, to everyone who reads this I hope you stop for a moment to remember what today, Memorial Day, is really about.
On another note, Ken and I worked on our sailboat blisters this past Saturday and will be back at our sailboat tomorrow. We'll fill you in soon, with more pictures of course. Hasta luego ... until then. Mid-Life Cruising!

Never been to Arlington National Cemetery, but would like to visit. Such a sobering experience I'm sure.

When we leave the Chesapeake (hopefully within the week) we want to head south to the DC area and I would like to visit the cemetary while we're there.
