The evening was perfect, with a light breeze and beautiful skies. We didn't even have to throw out the anchor ... we just floated on the lake while enjoying dinner that was so generously provided to us. We watched the sunset and enjoyed the moonlight while heading back home. We really appeciated the invitation and are looking forward to returning the favor soon.
We have to admit, that while we love our sailboat we really admired the Sea Ray! It was so sleek ... and fast! We wouldn't want "Nirvana" to hear us say it, but if money were no object and we could afford to fill up the fuel tanks whenever necessary, we'd really think about a power boat. However, money is a concern and traveling around the Caribbean will be much less costly on a sailboat!
Earlier on Saturday we took our daughter to New Orleans for lunch at Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville. She was staying with us for the weekend (she's a college girl living in Baton Rouge), and Margaritaville is always a great place to get away for a little while. The restaurant and the French Quarter were busy, which made for plenty of good people watching. There is always a lot to see in the French Quarter ... it never gets old! In fact, that morning was the annual "Running of the Bulls", which consists of women on roller blades dressed in red with plastic bats in hand (bulls), ready to "hit" the many party goers dressed in white (runners). We might just have to take part in this next year!
On another note, Ken and I are slowly making progress on getting the house ready for sale. Ken's been working on various indoor projects, while I recently went through my clothes and donated a bunch of them to Goodwill. Once the house does sell, we'll be getting rid of a lot more stuff and having a garage sale. I'm sure that is going to be another big project, but I'm mentally prepared for "letting go" and we're looking forward to when we get to that point.
I still have way too many clothes to get rid of, but hopefully I can sell some at a garage sale later.

I know exactly how a Sea Ray handles since we have a 34 foot one. We have the sundancer. It's a great boat and can get from point A to point B in a hurry. They are expensive to run though. We just put in nearly $500 bucks worth the gas yesterday. Oh well.
I'm happy you had such a great outing. Nothing better than doing something fun on the weekend.

Even your land life looks better then mine! It's neat to see somebody moving forward with their dream. I wish my house was getting closer to selling. But I've a way to go yet.
Ah, but the beauty and grace of a sailboat is so romantic. No need to hurry through life :)
Sandee, yes we do seem to collect a lot of stuff! We won't be able to do that on the boat. Tux, we're not moving as quickly as we'd like to either, but we'll all get there! Paul n Deb ... you are so right! We do love our sailboat and romantic is a great way to describe it.
