Ken with our new co-workers, friends & roommates in California!
Sorry for the long silence! It seems that since my last post from Mexico several months ago, I got caught up in life. Just popping in to let you know that we're still alive, still living on Nirvana, and still planning on cruising in 2018!
I've got so much to catch up on, but basically Ken & I spent the months of September, October & November handling insurance claims and adding to our cruising kitty. We worked in Alabama, Georgia, Florida .. then crossed the country to work in California! It was our first time as insurance adjusters, and the opportunity arrived practically overnight.
One day we were communicating with the company, and two days later we were securing Nirvana and heading to Birmingham .. with no idea of when we'd be back! Although we saw quite a bit of damage (especially with the fires in California), we met a ton of great people, made some new friends, and had some amazing experiences!
Here's a sneak peek at some of what we were up to when we weren't working ..
Wineries & redwoods in California with new friends!
Visits to San Francisco ..
then a trip down the Pacific Coast Hwy with several stops before making our way towards home.
After hitting San Diego, we headed to Vegas!
From there we headed to Sedona, Arizona!
Our final stop before home was a night in San Antonio .. so pretty with the Christmas lights!
Ken & I are now back & settled on Nirvana just in time for the holidays and the birth of our first grandchild (a boy!) in February. We're super excited about the arrival of our lil guy and sailing further South this Spring. Damn, it's gonna be hard to leave our family, but we'll be sure to keep in touch with visits.
Prepping for Christmas at the Roosevelt Hotel in New Orleans!
I hope that ya'll still hang in there with me & our blog, and during this Christmas & New Year I'd love to hear from you! I hope all of you have an amazing, healthy & happy New Year filled with all that you dream of!
Let the Adventure Begin!
Hasta luego .. until then. Mid-Life Cruising!

What a summer and fall you two had! Not much practicing of your sailing skills but glad you got to see so much more of the country and hopefully will get to do a lot more sailing in the new year. Merry Christmas!
